Trails Committee - The Bedford Trails Committee
is a subcommittee of the Bedford Conservation Commission and includes
representatives from town government as well as representatives from
Bedford volunteer organizations, including the Bedford Conservation
Land Stewards. This committee oversees trail maintenance projects,
leads monthly hikes on conservation land, and will be publishing a
Bedford Trail Guide.

Bird Club - Members of this club are located in the
Greater Boston area and often lead birding walks near Bedford,
especially at Great Meadows in Concord. Their winter lecture meeting is
usually held in Bedford at the Bedford High School.
Cambridge
Entomological Club -The Cambridge Entomological
Club, founded in 1874, is the second oldest entomological society in the
North America. They meet once a month at Harvard University's Museum of
Comparative Zoology for dinner and a speaker.
Citizens for
Lexington Conservation - The
Citizens for Lexington Conservation is an organization of over 150
households who are concerned about environmental issues in Lexington and
support local candidates for office who are sensitive to these issues.
They are also responsible for the town's solid waste center. They
support the aquisition and maintenance of open spaces in Lexington and
regularly sponsor guided tours of town-owned conservation land..
For the Birds Store - Located in
Concord, Massachusetts, they sell wild bird seed and offer a wide
variety of feeders, birdhouses and accessories, plus bird related
products such as binoculars, field guides, bird baths, and garden
sculptures.
Friends
of Alewife Reservation - The Friends of the Alewife
Reservation lead many nature and animal tracking walks in the Alewife
Reservation, inventory and monitor wildlife, and provide wildlife docent
training.
Menotomy Bird
Club - Menotomy Bird Club is an association of
people interested in birds and birding in the Mystic Valley watershed,
in particular the areas in and around Arlington, Massachusetts.
Minuteman
Bikeway and the Narrow-Gauge Rail-Trail - This is a
write up by the Friends of Depot Park in Bedford. It extends beyond the
paved bikeway through the woods towards Billerica.
Shawsheen River Watershed
Association - The Shawsheen River Watershed
Association meets monthly at the Tewksbury Library. Their volunteer
membership works on river related protection projects, runs river
cleanups, and great paddling trips. Several of these cleanups and
paddling trips start in Bedford. See their calendar.
Massachusetts Audubon
Society - The Massachusetts Audubon Society oversees
the Christmas Bird Count in which several Bedford Conservation Land
Stewards participate. In addition to many wildlife education programs,
their web site gives useful wildlife information.
Massachusetts Butterfly Club - Since 1995,
the Massachusetts Butterfly Club has been hosting 'Butterfly Institutes'
across the state. Each Institute is a series of weeknight lectures and
weekend field trips that are conducted by MBC members for 4 to 8 weeks
in May and June.
Thoreau
Society - The Thoreau Society, located near Walden
Pond runs many training and educational programs in Animal Tracking.
